Better VALUE: Zodias or Tatula?

Featured Replies

Those who have fished both I’m guessing overall the Zodias has an edge but the tatula (not elite) is about 50 dollars cheaper. Does anyone know how light the tatula is? I know the Zodias are super light. I’m looking at the 6’10” mh casting in both brands.

The Tatula 7'0" Medium/Regular weighs 4.5 oz., the OG Tatula's are much lighter, I believe a lot of models are under 4.0 oz.

They are both pretty close regarding weight and characteristics. I compare OG Tatula Eva handle and old version Zodias. It is really depend on your preference but if Tatula is 50 cheaper, I’d op for Tatula. I have 3 Tatula MH, but only 2 zodias H and ML.

Og tatula is eva grip with gold nut I have 3 and absolutely love them.

What do you guys mean by “og” tatulas? Are they are previous model or are you just referring to the model with the cork handle?

OG refers to the original model.  My 6'10" MHF OG Tatula weighs 3.74 oz.  No idea what the new model weighs.  No experience with any Zodias so I can't help there.

I was in the same boat (pun intended) not too long ago but for a finesse spinning setup.

I love the aesthetics of the new Zodias rods, but opted to save the 50 bucks for the 6’8” Tatula Medium Fast spinning rod for Neko, wacky, drop shot techniques.
So far I enjoy fishing the Tatula and feel like I couldn’t have gone wrong either way.

Wouldn't the Tatula Elite be a closer comparison to the Zodias?
