Saranac Lake / Rollins Pond / Fish Creek Pond area

Is anyone familiar with the Saranac Lake area?

I'm thinking of booking a week at either the Rollins Pond campground or the Fish Creek Campground. The state website does recommend Rollins Pond for kayakers, but the Fish Creek campground is right between Square Pond and Fish Creek ponds and I can access Saranac Lake and Follensby Clear Pond which looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Any tips for fishing in the area?

I cam there all the time,  I love on Champlain. I would suggest Floodwood rd. There is a series of ponds and campsires that are free.  Bass and pike are plentiful in most.  Floodwood pond, East Pine, and Long pond are all good for bass.

Very cool! What are the free sites like? Most free sites I'm aware of are a long hike in.

Also what's the fishing like? I hear most the lakes up there have a lot of fallen trees.

So I was able to get a site on the water on the Fish Creek Pond campground. There was only one left, so I figured I'd better jump on it.
