Squared back swim baits

Featured Replies

Ive been looking at the BPS Show me the $$$ swim baits and really like the patterns on them, but ive never thrown a squared of big chunky swim bait. I have one, an Optimum line through Boom Boom but have yet to throw it. What's the difference between these and round ones like a Rage Swimmer or Keitech? I'm sure the action is different, but how? Rigged mainly on a swim head or weedless screw lock type? When a squared over a round? I just have zero knowledge about them so please enlighten me!

Weighted screw lock, they should have a hook slot. The ones I make have a lot of roll to them and a pretty impressive thump.

BPS, has a video on the product page.

Is there a flat back and a square back? If so then arent they the same as opposed to round????

I use a brand called big hammer for the few times I get to fish for musky and pike. Major league tail thump. Very thick plastic.

Those BPS ones look more like a Jenko fishing booty shaker, which is a bit softer plastic but still lots of tail wag.

These style of baits have a ton of roll to them to. I’m a fan.

Ive heard of the Jenko ones and I believe they are very similar except plastic formulas. Also Beast Coast makes a few sizes and Optimum. But never fished them so that's all i know!
