Propeller questions

Featured Replies

Yesterday I was on a tournament and I hit something. Well I checked it when I loaded it on the trailer and on 2 blades I have little dings and on the 3rd one there's a small chunk of it missing. Will these hurt my performances running down the lake?  My other question is how can I find out what propeller I have, I think it's a 94 Evinrude 110 and what pitch would be the best?  This is one thing on these motors I have no clue on what I'm doing.  Thanks guys.

The bad news is, is that it will most certainly affect the performance of your prop and boat. The good news is that it sounds to me like you are running an aluminum prop, and they are cheap enough in relation stainless props. Your prop is probably a 13 1/2- 14 rake (first # on prop), and somewhere between a 19 to 21 pitch (second # on prop). Look for a stamp on the hard rubber ring around the inside of your prop. It'll look like this:  13 1/2 x 21. If you want more performance while you are replacing it anyway, you could always step it up to a 4 blade stainless prop (I actually have one for sale in the flea market!) Good luck, and let us know how you make out.
