First open water trip of the year(well kinda)...

Found some open water at a series of small ponds today. The ponds are 1\3 to 1\2 way open. Lots of nice gills swimming up shallow..saw a couple dink bass. Couldn't fool any bass but did manage a couple nice rainbows..felt good.

    Good to hear.  The lake I fish on the eastern part of the state is still ice!
