Ceiling Fans

My ceiling fan gets used daily and it started to make a squeaking noise. I took the blades off and cleaned them up, found out that 1 of the blades needed to be tightened.

Cleaned the rest of the fan and light globe. Put it back together and the squeak is gone but the fan is still kinda loud.

Can these things be lubricated? I’m assuming they rotate on a bearing system?

Anyone ever have the same problem?

Spray that baby down with KVD line and lure conditioner. It will purr like a kitten and turn more RPM's than it ever has.

Are you taking down or are you spraying it in place?

Try it in place first, if that doesn't work, take it down. :)

Ended up taking it down. I noticed the ground on the fan was disconnected from the incoming ground.
It was fine though. I was able to get 3 in 1 oil on top and bottom without much fuss.

She now spins with a little more giddy in the giddy-up and is quieter than ever.
I’m getting some mileage out of a fan I bought in 1995. I wonder if the bearings were just dry....hnmmm ?
