Hi guys, I need some help here. My stradic started making a grinding noise, but only when it’s reeling in line. There is no noise when it free spins. I took the whole thing apart, cleaned and greased everything ( including the bail). However the problem still exists. Do you know what the cause may be.

Ball bearing in the line roller is probably shot.

Do I replace it?

You could flush it yourself.  Check the video site if you never cleaned a bearing before 

If the bearing is beyond just lubricating it will need to be replaced.

Also check to make sure it's not your line.

Dirty line can also make a grinding noise when retrieving.

Most likely this, it’s an easy fix. I would just replace it

So I have replaced the line roller, the Bering spacers, and washers. The grinding noise still presents.

 

what else can cause the noise? Please help.

     You can buy a stethoscope on-line for less than $20. You can use it for much, much more accurate localization of the noise. Go from there.           jj
