Lake Kissimmee advice please

Featured Replies

Anyone have any advice or pointers to give me on this lake? I fished it for a hard day and a half last Wednesday/Friday and we caught three fish total. This is now 8 trips in the last year for a total of 15 fish. We have been fishing Florida for years and catch steady fish across Okeechobee, Garcia, Headwaters and Toho. We really want to buy property near Kissimmee and fish it more but this is just frustrating as heck.

We did a steady dose of flipping black blue senkos in the Kissimeee grass, flipping burner craws, throwing junebug and watermelon burner worms, and chatter baits.

We fished in North Cove, and around Brahma recently but also fished Jacks Slough, the Pig Trail and on the west bank near the A frame red house.

Any ideas from my broad strokes what the heck is going on, or is it just horrible luck?

I’ve fished Kissimmee once this year, got 2 14” bass on rattle traps. Both looked sucked in and starving, open sores on them. All of the grass l saw looked dead and the water was pretty dirty.

That was my first time on the lake so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but the grass situation definitely wasn’t what I was expecting.

I much preferred Toho, water was cleaner, bass looked healthier.
