Yet another rod selection advice request - St. Croix LTB Dock Sniper or Dobyns DC 705c

Featured Replies

In my search for a dedicated tight cover rod I've narrowed it down to the st croix ltb dock sniper and the dobyns champion 705c. I want a short, powerful, light, balanced rod for pitching and skipping jigs and plastics up to and possibly a little over an ounce. Not familiar with dobyns jig rods but I've owned st croixs in the past and am drawn to them but it's no secret the ltb's have a reputation of being tip heavy but I also read they improved them a few years back. There's very little info out there that I could find on the st croix dock sniper in particular and was hoping any owners or previous owners could chime on how balanced either of these rods are. Other recommendations welcome too.

If you want light, and balanced, go with the 705. It's a very versatile rod too.
