Re: slack problem

This sounds like a situation where you need a heavier sinker.  When the wind reaches a certain level it will do this if you don't have enough weight at the end of your line.  What type of bait are you fishing and what is its weight or the weight of the sinker you are using?  A little slack can be good but too much is a big problem.

Heavier sinker or bait.

Hold rod at 11 o'clock position to help take slack out of line.

Reel, twitch, reel, twitch, let sit, reel, twitch, twitch, etc., etc., etc., to keep as much slack out of line as possible.

You will have some slack in line most of the time.  Your job is to take as much of it up without damaging the bait's action.

The wind will blow a "slack bow" in the line. Nothing you can do about this situation.

Have fun.

IMHO As slow as weightless baits (like senko) are supposed to be fished you're gonna have slack,no 2 ways about it. This is when line watching becomes more imporant than ever...

Yep, you will have slack with weightless baits, although I find senko type worms are heavy enough that a big bow is only a problem with a decent wind.
