No one told me about the Kayak Monkey

Yeah, it'll get you.  My Kayak cost me $500 by itself.  The extras ran me another $1,000.

I'll say this though.  I used to own a 2 door coupe and it was a lot easier to car top it than with my SUV.  The SUV is a lot higher up and it's a huge difference trying to control a kayak that's shoulder height versus one that's above your head.  It's at least twice the work.

I have the dreaded monkey WAY worse with my kayak than any boat I had. I’d pretty much buy a boat and have the dealer rig it out and just fish it. From 16 yrs old to 48 I always had a boat but traded often. Only had one boat long enough that I upgraded sonar and trolling motor. That’s all I ever did.

Kayaks have a lot of cool gadgets that seep my wallet. I sold my kayak a week and a half ago and bought a Hobie PA12. Bad part is the dealer is 3.2 miles from my office. I’ve skipped a LOT of lunches and went to the shop. Last Friday and then yesterday I’m down $530 in doo dads.

I have a very addictive personality as well so when I pick up an interest I go all the way. ?

The spending is never going to end, it it? I'm just glad I was only bit by the Kayak Monkey and not the Boat Monkey.

Boy oh boy. No it doesn't lol.

I started on a yak that was probably not as nice as yours. Enjoyed it, upgraded it... but then started eyeballing other yaks with more features. I just recently went from a Field and Stream Black Friday special for $400 to a Jackson Coosa HD. Nothing wrong with the previous yak, just wanted more features because I made the mistake of doing research and one thing led to another...

Then I started looking at mini-power poles... and then found out you can put small trolling motors on the Coosa... and it has a dedicated scupper hole for a fishfinder...

It's bad man.
