Can the wire from the transducer be repaired or does it need to be replaced?

Manufacturers say never to cut the cable but I know soldering it can work. Try it. It shouldn't take long and you may find that you can make it work.

Yes they can be repaired.  There is a inner wire with insulation, then a shielded mesh with another insulation.
