I thought I blew it. I caught a 2.5 on the very first cast and thought I was doomed.  I went a long time with no fish. My buddy was reeling them in like a maniac.  I said, “ I hope that first cast fish doesn’t jinx me”.  Then I felt the big TICK of a bass sucking in my offering.  It was strong!!  Peeling line and everything.  When I netted it, the happiness flowed!
