Shimano Zodias Question

Featured Replies

Do any of you folks have the 2020 zodias in the 7'5" Heavy model? Im thinking about picking it up for Flipping/Punching heavy cover as well as for bigger jigs and maybe some frog fishing too. I know thats alot to ask from 1 rod but if you guys have any knowledge of this rod in particular id greatly appreciate any details you can give me. Thanks!

If you can get somewhere to put your mitts on one would be the best case. The Zodias tends to be faster than advertised and in a heavy you should be a able to punch through overhanging trees, down past the Lilly pads and deep in the grass with no trouble...I'm just guessing though?

The Zodias Heavy in any of their lengths is a VERY stout rod. I have all 4 powers of their 7'2" (ML, M, MH, H)

I use the H for my 3/4oz. Swing Heads. It really starts to excel for 3/4 and heavier lures. Any lighter and its like fishing with a shovel handle.

I tried using it for frogs, but it just does not have enough tip to cast well as frogs are too light.

Are we talking the older zodias models or the new 2020s?

Every Zodias I have is the new Monocoque handle.
