I purchased the titled frog rog in early spring, will get my first chance to try it out next week and I'm really excited. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this rod and if so I'm wondering if it's got any secondary uses. I've got the TTU701HFB jig rod which I am really happy with so don't need it to do that job. I haven't been able to find many comments or opinions on it other than a thread from several years ago that said it was also good for swimbaits, which I am not sure about. I would have thought this rod would be too stiff for treble hooks? As this is my first frog rod and foray in to frog fishing, wondering how this rod matches up, is this a little softer or firmer than other popular rods?

Thanks

Shameless bump :( nobody uses this rod

A week has passed. Have you? Thoughts?

It actually does make a good small swimbait rod, so long as you are talking soft jig hook style swimbaits. It is definitely too fast for what I would want for my treble hook swimbaits.

I have this rod. It's quite strong and pretty much my frogging rod and very good for that as it has plenty of power to pull them out.

I could see maybe throwing other heavier lures on it that have a fairly stout hook, like smaller swimbaits and baitballs in a pinch as it is rated up to 2oz and that's probably not too inaccurate although it does load up well with the 2.25" LiveTarget frogs that I usually throw and I think they weigh 5/8 oz.

Finally got back from the trip, no cell reception. Unfortunately was too windy the whole d**n time so didn't even get to try it out. Appreciate the replies and info though!
