Is there any negative aspect of casting something like a 3/4 oz jig on a reel with an mgl spool? Looking at buying a scorpion mgl and im curious

    I have used mine (SLX MGL 70XG) with 50 lb power pro to fluoro leader for carolina rig fishing. I can throw a 3/4 oz carolina rig out quite a ways with it. I have had it for less than a year, and haven't had any issues.
