That was in June of last year. Now they are absolutely willing to sell you parts for your reel as long as it’s within its warranty period. Which seems completely backward to me, because if it had broke while it was still under warranty why wouldn’t you just send it back and get it done for free..vs buying the part and doing it yourself?

Did you ask them that? Maybe you misunderstood ?

I don't see where it says they would sell them to you if it was warranty. It says they cannot  because it's not warranty. That would imply a severe shortage of parts like everything else in this world.i would call them and actually speak to them and find out what's up.

I contacted her by phone and she emailed me this request form. I’m not sure how you can get anything else from this besides what you can clearly read in black and white. They are no longer willing to SELL you parts to fix your stuff UNLESS they are within the 1 year warranty window. At which point you could just send it in and get it fixed for FREE because it’s still under WARRANTY.

They can't sell parts because of global shortages !!! So if it's under warranty why would you do anything other than send it in ? Global shortages are hurting all industries. Look at how many cargo ships are stuck on the ocean for various reasons. Do you really think they would hog the parts if they had enough to sell ?

My point exactly! Why would they even offer to sell you parts when it’s under warranty then turn you down because it isn’t?? Did you not read any of her emails I posted??? She was ready and willing to SELL me parts before I sent her the purchase dates. Then she tells me to contact the company that does their servicing and that I could buy what I need from them. But like I said I can’t get them to return calls or emails. The excuse I got last year may have been from Covid or the “shortages” you speak of but now it’s that my reels are out of the warranty period so they can’t sell me parts to fix them. I don’t know why that’s so hard for you to grasp. Lol

So your saying they were in warranty but it took so long that they aren't any more ? That should not be an issue if you have proof they were in warranty.i would ask to speak with someone else higher up.As far as I know Lew's warranty department is second to none so I can't imagine they would not fix this.
