Battery Charger?

Featured Replies

Just bought a crawdad jon boat that came with minkota 30lb motor & a deep cycle marine battery but, no charger.

I still have my motorcycle battery charge. Will that work on a deep cycle marine battery? Or do I have to buy a new charger? If so, can any one recommend one?

What amperage is the charger? Is it fully automatic?

Do you want something that will work or something that is best and easiest?  Buy a charger that you can keep plugged in all the time.  That way you know that when it is time to go fishing your battery will be good.

Off topic, but I have to ask.  Fishes in trees?   Would those trees be Basswood trees?

I  had to dig up my motorcyle charger.

But, yes it's automatic & 1.5 amps.

I wanted something simple & inexpensive. Just keep it plugged in over night or when I'm not using boat so, its ready to fish.

i thought about getting a second battery too. That way I always have a battery charged and ready to go.

The 1.5 amp charger will not be enough to charge your battery once it is run down. The 1.5 amp charger is designed to keep a fully charged battery charged. You will want to get a 10 to 20 amp fully automatic charger. Meaning one you can leave hooked up all the time. I use a guest 2612A charger.
