Oh man, those are sweet reels.  The last hurrah before the Pure Fishing buyout.  Very cutting edge and I don't think anybody has made anything like it since.  Honestly, I'd be happy to own one of any size, but for bass fishing, the 2000 will be best.  Here's a really good article and teardown of the Suveran, what a great reel.  https://www.alanhawk.com/reviews/suv4.html

Wow... what a review.  Fascinating!  And it was cool to see the Cardinal in that article.   Mr. Hawk does a wonderful job.  Thanks for sharing!

So I would be dumb to buy the 4000?

I could also get a 1000. I heard they could use the 2000 spool which would be good if I could find one.
