Striker vs helix 5

Featured Replies

The iBobber I have I never use because I don’t want to hold my phone when I’m kayak fishing. I’m mostly using it to find structure that I can see on maps. Helix 5 seems like a splurge but the more I research the more I want. I’m fishing out of an old town top water 10.5. Probably going to get garmin striker 4. Any input would be appreciated.

I had a Lowrance 4" on the canoe - and it was very small, had to lean in to see the screen...might not be as much an issue on a kayak, but I'd still go with the Striker 5CV at a minimum - the downscan is something that changes the whole game.

I'm running a 7CV now and it makes all the difference.

Get the biggest screen you can afford. I have a 5", and wish I would've went 7" or 9".

The Helix is going to have more feature options than the striker, too

I have a a striker 4 cv and I love it only problem is the size. in split screen it’s to small to see even when sitting @ the counsel but when in single screen mode it’s fine so if you can get a larger screen I have the same problem with my 7” when using 3 screens at once
