Got my Sierra micro and its gonna be the first of several.

Featured Replies

Packaged well, light and good looking. I use some beat old rods now that I don't need to treat special but now things are changing. Reel shows up tomorrow and it gets spooled w/line and I go fishing. I got a Pfleuger president xt and a Daiwa legalis to compare...... one for the new Sierra and one for the next rod I will buy very soon. I hope to wrestle with a couple big ones to see how it does, I can feel the bottom pretty well with my clunker rods so this should be an experience. Haven't followed any advice on here that hasn't been pretty much spot on..........fish on.  Dave

Awesome rod.

Yes it truly is, casts a long ways, and really lets me feel the bottom like never before. There will be more I guess, maybe another when sales happen this winter. You describe it in one word and I agree.  Dave

The Sierras are nice rods. I go for the non micro guide versions myself, but if you run straight mono, fluoro or braid then go for it.

Was gonna go out today and really see what the casting distance increase is, its more than I can quickly adjust to. Only thing left to test is how it reacts to a big one running for cover, feels like it has good backbone for M/F however. I want to get one next without micro guides in MH/F and add it. I don't own good rods so its quite a difference in feel for pick ups and bottom contact.
