how would you go about testing the stretch of a line

Featured Replies

so the recent thread on mono got me thinking.ive been using fluoro as leader material on my spinning rod which are spooled with braid. on casting rods i use all fluoro except my my topwater rig.ive had no real trouble with the flouro but its expensive. i also have some mccoy ultra clear which is half the price and performs well for  me. main reason i use fluoro is because its supposedly has less stretch. (better hooksets more sensitive) but since some say fluoro stretches just as much id just use the mccoy all being equal. how wpuld you go about testing this without expensive equipment?
