How to determine trolling motor shaft length out of water.

I got a 14' v-bottom that I just decked and would like to get a foot controlled trolling motor for the bow. Problem is that in Ohio in Feb. I can't get it in the water to take a measurement. (ice you know) Is there a way to measure for that out of the water, plus my bow has been built up by about 9". See Pics

You will have to guess where the water line will be on the hull when wet. Maybe there is a stain on the hull to help you. Then use this calculation from the Minn Kota web site:
