Last year i got a Humminbird PiranhaMax 220 and i never really got to use it much. This year i want to learn to use it and i am wondering about one of the settings. Under the set-up menu there is four options for how it displays the bottom on the display. So if anyone could help me with what the best view would be, it be greatly appreciated. The 4 views are:

Structure ID-represents weak returns as light pixels and strong signals as dark pixels. This has the benefit of ensuring that strong returns will be clearly visible on the display.

Black-displays all pikels below the bottom contour as black, regardless of signal strength. This has the benefit of providing a high contrast between the bottom and other sonar returns on the display.

WhiteLine-highlights the strongest sonar returns in white resulting in a distinctive outline. This has the benefit of clearly defining the bottom on the display.

Inverse-is a method where weak returns are shown with dark pixels and strong returns with lighter pixels. This has the benefit of ensuring that weak signals will be clearly visible on the display.

I always set my units to white line so bottom contours and objects on or close to the bottom will show better.
