Shimano stradic replacement parts

Featured Replies

I purchased a used shimano stradic FL 2500 about a year ago. The reel was in like new condition besides one thing- it seems to be missing a washer/spacer where the knob attaches to the reel handle and it causes the knob to wiggle up and down a bit when reeling. Besides that, the reel works just fine, but the extra wiggle is annoying.

Does anyone know where I could find a replacement washer? Unfortunately I don’t know the exact part number, but it looks to be a small white disc that’s just a few millimeters across in diameter. It slides right in between the reel handle and the knob.

Find your exact model on this page, click the link...it'll show a breakout with all the parts numbered, and an order list for the part underneath

It doesn't miss anything; it's quite common for low-mid end reels to have less than perfect knob tolerance. If you want tight tolerance on the handle knob, you are looking at $200+ reels. That being said, it's an easy fix to do it yourself. Just search "thin shim" of 4x7x0.1 mm size on Internet or local hardware store.

Sorry, I was talking about "street price."  I got mine for ~$140.

So my two Patriarchs that I paid less than $100 each are also not classified at their MSRP of $200?

Color me confused...

I am not allowed to post the link or name here, so please don't ask. But you should be able to find similar ones on Internet.

It's just my opinion based my own experience with reel handles.  My Patriach XT had a not-so-perfect handle knob tolerance.  I had to put a couple shims in it.

Thanks, got it ordered. It was the handle knob bushing.

Did you order the bushing or washer? It is very common for knob with bushing to have some wiggle doesnt matter what price, Stradic is one using 1 bushing and 1 bearing.

you can eliminate wiggle by replacing bushing with bearing (4x7x2.5) or add washer.

Shimano reels have white bushings the same size as the bearings- 4x7x2.5.

Their shims/washers are copper or brass colored.

You can also order stainless steel bearings online for cheap to replace the bushings. Personally I dont think it makes much of a difference.

But I do hate any side to side play in my knobs. Shimming the knobs is a quick and easy fix.

It was the white bushing and it was completely missing on my reel handle/knob assembly.
