Well i got my motor running today,it runs strong for about 30 sec and then cuts out and its only burning the gas i sques into it with the bulb,so i prime it till it gets hard then start and then it cuts out and i have to prime it again any suggestions on what it might be

fuel pump not pumping.  Gummed up, or bad or not getting pulse signal from crankcase for some reason.

needle stuck in carburator/gummed up carbs.

Without being there to help you, my best advice would be to look for a service manual for your specific engine.  Mine has been extremely handy over the years of using the boat.

I would check the fuel system completely.  You're obviously not getting fuel somehow.  Start simple and check things like the filter, lines, etc etc.  Like Way2slow said, check the carbs out.  You may have a stuck needle somewhere.  You may want to try using a product called Seafoam to clean some of the stuff out.

You know, it might help to at least let us know what kind of motor you got. My lawn mower does the same thing sometimes and I just hit it with a hammer. Go ahead and try it on what ever the heck you got, couldn't hurt as far as we know. Is it even a boat? How the heck would we even know?

well of course its a boat or i would have posted it on a lawnmower forum not here, and i got it the carbs were a lil gummed up i just kept tying it and after she back fired a few time shes running like a rapped ape,

You know, it might help to at least let us know what kind of motor you got. My lawn mower does the same thing sometimes and I just hit it with a hammer. Go ahead and try it on what ever the heck you got, couldn't hurt as far as we know. Is it even a boat? How the heck would we even know?

great post. works on multiple vehicles. probably works on dogs, cats, small children, and wives as well.
