megabass orochi whipsnake.

Featured Replies

thinking about this rod (or the levante version)  for ned rigs mostly maaybe some drop shot. ive heard it has a pretty soft tip. ive had rods in the past that seemed perfect for neds but the tip was too soft and i would lose alot of fish. i use a custom ned head that has a size 1 hook so slightly heavier my but still not a heavy hook. my current rod does a good job of keeping the fish pinned but id like something a little softer for casting and feel. i use 15pound braid to a 6 or 8 pound flouro leader.

It will fish a ned and drop shot just fine, I just got mine and have found it pretty versatile so far. I’ve thrown mostly small swimbaits with it that have a lite hook. It’s well versed. Good rod. This is the Orochi XX.

@NathanDLTH - What size swimbaits do you throw on it? I’m interested in the Orochi XX Shakyhead and am trying to get a feel for the Megabass power ratings.
