Tru Tungsten Jigs

Featured Replies

Hi all this is my very first post on the forum and yes it is asking for help.  Hopefully some of my limited experience will be of service to someone later.

I just picked up a TT jig from the local tackle shop and noticed that their "removable" rattle seriously impedes putting any kind of pig, chunk, trailer...whatever and still leaving any hook available for hooking the fish.  I really like the jig's feel and skirt.  Has anyone else run into this with their jigs?  I'd like to be able to fish it in all combinations (of course).

1/2 ounce, black and blue....the usual

Thanks

I use TT jigs also and I either take the rattle off or instead of threading the trailer on I just hook it through the middle of the chunk.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give both a try.

I had the same problem.  What I did was use a Paca baby craw, cut it and use that as a trailer.  Ironically, it fits right over the big rattle just right.

Thank you.

It just seems so odd that they would build a jig like that.  I picked up a boo ya and their rattles are up and away and there is a barb as a chunk keeper.

While the Tru-Tungsten jigs are AWESOME, the rattle is a serious problem.  I've always questioned there decision with adding that stupid thing.  You did what I do when you removed it.  The rattle isn't loud anyway so I don't think it makes to much of a difference.

Was surprised, in a good way, this evening when I caught a few smallmouth.  No trailer, with the rattle.  They advertise them rattling at a lower frequency and thus traveling farther...who knows.
