EGO S2 Slider or Yakattack Leverage landing net

Featured Replies

Now that all (maybe) tackle needs have been filled this black Friday, I want to start upgrading other areas on my kayak setup so I would like to buy a new landing net. The EGO S2 looks like a good option and so does the yakattack leverage landing net. I'm trying to decide with out ever using them or seen them in person which one to buy. I like the yakattack because of the leverage of course this looks very helpful but I also see this as a constrain on distance. On the other hand the EGO seems lighter and the fact that floats is always welcome.

Now my main question comes on handling the net in the kayak, I fish with spinner (left hand retrieve) and baitcaster (right hand retrieve) rods equally so this makes me work the net with the hand that is not holding the rod at that time, I'm worried that the the forearm grip and using the leverage may be an issue as it looks more difficult to switch hands and when the fish is there, you don't want to give them time to get away.

It may not be difficult at all to work the yakattack with either hand, its super easy to handle and most likely I'm overthinking this but I tend to get into this kind of issues on the off season when I have the time to think about it (during season I may have bought wherever shipped faster)

thank you for your comments!
