Stock, but USDM. 

That's odd to have bad bearings, I have a couple of greenies and a few Chronarch E's that have thousands of casts on their original bearings. I flush and lube them once a year.

Yeah, I agree. 
Japanese reels at times can come with completely dry bearings. I did not know about the severity of it and just fished with the reels right away. When you throw a high resistance bait on a reel like the Calcutta Conquest, it can quickly ruin the bearings for you.
