SLX XT for Jerkbaits

Featured Replies

Anybody else throwing this for jerkbaits? I'm having great results on it. 10# mono on a 685cb Champion. For me it's as good as it gets.

Would love to hear your combos on this.

I know there are some opinions.

I can't specifically speak to the XT as I don't own one, but I do currently throw jerkbaits on a standard SLX and it's adequate. I've heard the regular SLX handles lighter baits a bit better than the XT does but again, I haven't been able to compare the two.

Personally, I'm looking to upgrade to the SLX MGL which should handle the lighter jerkbaits much better.

Great! I guess I ought to slap some 10# mono on the SLX and use my XT for flukes, light t rigs, finesse jigs and senkos.

Thanks

I like the regular SLX too and I think it is pretty good with light weight baits maybe the VBS is why. I have thought maybe buy the MGL spool and see how it works.
