I wanted to know what are your thoughts on this boat? Im am VERY seriously considering buying this baby.  I know it's a jon boat..but at 21''8 and with a 96 inch beam(i think),and the fact that is all welded i think it can be way more than that.  Would you take this out on large bodies of water?? What are your thoughts on this boat??

O..and just in case you guys or gals are wondering what kind of motor(hp) I'll have rigged on here it would be a mercury optimax 115 hp with a mercury fury stainless steel prop.  Thanks for all of those who reply

truthfully... i havent been in one nor do i even know somone that has one.

but this is my dream rig youre talking about. lol. i fish alot of inshore and i like to chase reds up creeks and around oysterbars. i also like fishing stumpy flats and backwater for bass.  a big stable aluminum boat is the perfect boat for me.

i can go shallow and scary without worrying so much about my gelcoat.

just my two cents.

Kikstand,

thanks for replying.  This boat is my dream rig also. If I pull the gun on this, I'm gonna put two lowrance hds10 w/lss, 36 volt minnkota terrova with co-auto-ipilot, a powler pole, and maybe a aqua vu mav. Like yourself, I can go from fishing 100 arce lakes with stumps to rivers as tough as they come to certain great lakes. It's the ULTIMATE package to me

Very nice boat.  I seriously considered one last fall for the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding rivers.

Only reason I decided against it was because I also frequent some large northern lakes that can get very rough and I was concerned about my back not being able to take the rough ride.

That's a great design for bays and rivers though - and it should be able to handle some fairly rough water - although a bit roughly.

I think its well thought out however, there is the issue of it fitting in a garage.  I think its just a little to wide to fit in a standard single door.

I was looking at it at our local BPS. Nice looking rig. My only thoughts on it was, with the rubberized interior. The one at BPS had of course been sitting outside exposed to the elements and there were a couple spots where I could see the rubbery stuff start warping a bit like it was coming detached from the hull.

Not sure if this was the one bad one or if that would be something you would expect from the whole line.

It does look real nice though. If they had them out there when I bought my PT175 txw last year, I would have had a tough time choosing between the 2.

I have a new (well a 2007) Tracker Grizzly 1754.with a 25 hp 4 stroke Mercury. It is a solid boat! I'll use it for bass fishing. It was a wedding present from my wifes uncle. We picked it up this weekend. He had it carpeted though. It quiets things down alot. I can't WAIT to get it out on the water. I wish the rod box was longer. I am still figuring out where I want to put everything. Tracker could have put more storage in it. But It was free..so I have no right to complain. I love it though. I have driven it, it handles nice. It is a modified v, so t handles water better than a regular jon boat. I'm sure it is tough as nails. But for tough, serious fishing boat, they are hard to beat.
