Featured Replies

hey guys. i have a 12ft aluminum boat that ive decked out. and was wondering if you could help me out with putting a livewell in so i can fish tourneys? also my transducer on the bow mount wont mount right. though its not a puck  but  the ones made for cheap sonar units that are meant for the transom? id appreciate any help or ideas. thanks.

You can use a coleman cooler and a portable livewell aerator.  The aerator has suction cups that stick to the bottom of the cooler and it runs on 12V.  It has alligator clips that you attach to your battery.

Here is a link to the aerator:

will that be legal for tournaments?

Make sure you change out the water often in warm weather. Using an additive that removed ammonia, and chlorine from the water also allows you to add ice to the water to keep it cool. I think keeping the water cool and fresh is the biggest challenge to using a cooler livewell. I have used one for two years without issues.

if you want to get real fancy build in a pump that will take water in and out. That way you can throw a switch to pump out and back in fresh water from time to time. Our you could just use a bucket. I was working on this with a bilge pump type rig when I sold my jon a while back cause I was sick of swapping out water with a bucket.

I use this ducer adapter mount on my bow mount tm.  You can get it at Cabela's for $15.
