sevylor fish hunter inflatable

Featured Replies

anybody have any experience with this boat? its got a nice price thats why im attracted to it but being out in a lake in an inflatable boat full of hooks kinda concerns me... is it durable? if i slip over a big stick in the water without seeing it will it tear?

Wormdirt, I have my doubts about it's durability. I may be wrong. Remember that you get what you pay for and in this realm of things $200 isn't much. I've got 2 sea eagles and enjoy them both. You may want to save a little more money and go with one of them.

Good luck in your Quest

I used a 4-man Sevylor for fishing for a few years.  Never had any problems with it as far as leaks or things puncturing it.  Actually, it was kinda fun.

However, you are very low to the water, so it's difficult to see into the water.  That may not be important in your area, but in my neck of the woods we sight fish a lot.

The biggest problem I had was with wind.  The slightest puff of air will send you sailing across the water.  Boat control can be a real pain sometimes.

The other hassle is pumping the boat up and deflating it every time you go fishing.  I got an electric pump that clipped onto my car battery with allegator clips.  That really helped out. Otherwise you wear your leg out with one of those foot pumps.

Hope that helps!

think im gonna opt for a sit on top fishing kayak been looking around and came across kayak fishing and looks like something i could get into and its affordable now i just need to choose a kayak at the right price im thinking about getting one that isnt rigged for fishing as it will be less expensive and i can easily modify it for my needs

I do alot of fishing from a Intex Mariner.  Its just over $300.  It gets around very well with a small trolling motor and fits in the trunk when I pull it off the water.  Its incredibly convenient and easy to fish from.
