Sandy River Reservoir report

Featured Replies

Time for another trip in April to Sandy.

How's the water temp for March 2022?

Will assume we will hit the post spawn season on April.

Will be nice to get back at Sandy to start my quest for my personal best.

Well, I'm sure someone on here has been to Sandy River Reservoir this early spring.

And I'm sure, some have had success.

I understand that lure selection and patterns are kept within but,...

How about the water temp?

Water clarity is most likely muddy with the recent rains.

I appreciate the feedback

I haven't fished there in a few years but I am hoping to add it to my night time fishing locations even though it is a bit of a drive for me.

So, here it is 3/2023 and ready for a weekend at Sandy River. Heading out by mid April.

How's the water temp and any visuals on beds yet?

Our troop have faired well in late March and April sighting beds, working irregular cuts in the channel with crankbaits, jig-n-craws on the laydowns and points. If the weather is being difficult then the rocks and bluffs;

Many rant and rave on the swimbaits but; my luck has been minimal on thos pre and post spawn bass.

Good luck guys, be safe

Not sure about Sandy but I was out on Briery this past Saturday. Water temps were 54-55 degrees and this was mid-day so had some time to warm up. We're about to get a warm spell here with highs in the 70's and lows in the 40-50's so it may start to pick up.

I want to hit Sandy soon - bass and heard it’s a good pickerel fishery. Let me know if another kayaker wants to meet up there. Never fished it
