Getting back into fishing

Featured Replies

Getting back into fishing, looking to upgrade to a couple newer rigs, probably 1 to start with and another here in a couple months.  I'd like to start out with getting a new plastics/jig/general purpose rig, then eventually something for crankbaits/spinners/etc.  Idea being less time spent tying.  Prefer these two to be baitcasters, and i'll have a spinning rig to take care of anything else.  Plastics (texas/shaky)/jigs/spinners/crankbaits are my favorites to fish with, and prefer these rigs to reflect that.  I'll be trying some new stuff as well.

Questions revolve mainly around the reels, I like the Tatula line, but am a little confused on which one(s) I should pick.  I like what I read about the SV TW's, but also read good things about pretty much the whole lineup.  Can someone break it down as to the differences between and the pro's/cons between the different models.  Mainly the CT, SV TW103, and the Elite?  Which baits would those respective reels work better with?  Am i way overthinking this?

Tatula SV is very forgiving, and casts just fine with just about every presentation. Great in the wind too. I have the regular 100, new and old SV's, and elites. Across that line the SV is the standout. Get the old one if you have bigger hands, and the new one if you like smaller reels.
