CrashVector is correct. Here in south Louisiana it's not unusual for the water temperature to be in the 60-67 degree range by mid February, even in late January if we have had a mild winter..

 

I've seen bass on the beds in the Black Lake Marsh area in January when the water temperature was 56-57 degrees.
