boat donation

Has anyone donated a boat to charity?

I have a 14ft jon boat, it does not have a motor on it at this point (it was stolen). I am not looking to do anything with it, want to donate it to a place which will just come pick it up.

Anyone have any thoughts of a good charity place which does this?

Call Goodwill Industries.  They will take almost any donation, refurbish it, and then sell it at a greatly reduced price.  Their primary goal is to employ the disadvantaged.

14ft jons are normally extremely easy to sell for a few hundred dollars.  Goodwill will take it and give you a receipt for the value (say it's worth $800 and if on a trailer say $1,200) so you can tax deduct it.  Depending on your income, sometimes the tax deduction can be worth more than you can sell it for.
