Years ago, I fished these lakes when they had some of the best bass fishing in Florida.  Since then, Orange has gone dry more than once.  Anyone currently fishing these lakes that can give me an update on current conditions?

Phil, read on another site that they are catching fish on Orange but the hydrilla is thick. Mainly punching. 

Hotter months the veggies goes wild and make it very difficult on both lakes.

I saw several reports saying Orange was cranking out good fish this past winter/spring. Sounded like most folks never put the punch rod down all day. Haven’t heard much about it in the recent summer months.

 

Knew guys that did a lot of spec fishing on Lochloosa, no word on the bass fishing.

Orange was HOT this spring as I fished two TNTs there this year and great bags were caught @ allot of events. Have not been there since June 5th and as mentioned the Hydrilla was thick. I fished a swimming worm, punched the thick stuff. There was still allot of open water to fish. But most fish came from pockets of open water surrounded by Hydrilla. Stay out of  Lochloosa if you have a choice.
