Daiwa Steez A Reel Question

Featured Replies

I'm looking to pick up a lefty cranking reel. I currently have a Catalina TW 100PL (4:9:1), it is a great reel for cranking, but its a little on the bulky side for my hand grip. I am considering picking up a 17 Steez A TW 1016L-CC (5:3:1), I am seeking info on the reel frame size/ergonomics, is the Steez A TW 1016L-CC  a smaller profile than the Catalina in terms of griping the reel ? any info or feedback is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Yes. Quite a bit. You know where to find me when you sell the Catalina?

Also, if you're out near Oakdale, J&H has nearly full lines of reels in the display cases for comparison. You're allowed to fondle them. They had Catalinas in stock too last month if you don't feel like bringing yours.

I was not aware that J&H has the reels available to hold, next time I'm out there I will stop by. I think I'm going to pick up the Steez A, if I sell the Catalina, you will be the first to know, thanks again.

Bring money. Check out their JDM bait aisle. It's pretty good, and look on the clearance rack on the way back there. They put some pretty good stuff on it sometimes. There were lefty Hypermags getting clearance'd out for $200 last time I was there.

Will do, thanks!

The Steez A crazy cranker arrived yesterday,  if you're looking for a low gear ratio cranking lefty that's comfortable to palm, this is it. I'm super impressed with casting distance,  it's super smooth ,has a great drag, the only modification I am going to make is adding a 100mm handle.
