problems with trolling motor

Featured Replies

I have a minnekota vector 3x 80# trolling motor and ever since I got it (display model) it has had a lot of vibration I have just dealt with it the last 3 years, but now it feels sticky, when i turn it to speed 1 in the garage it takes a second to start spinning and when on the water I don't feel like I have the same power I used to. the batteries are about a year and a half old and keep a charge so they shouldn't be an issue. any one have any suggestions on what it may be?

thanks

I don't have first hand experience with this but I'd pull the prop and check for weed and/or fishing line. If you chew up the prop shaft seal the motor will fail yeal fast.
