  1. not anymore. they are draining it.
  2. i have been skunked 3 times in a row. my issue is the water level is high and the water temp has gone down 10 degrees. shallow is producing nothing, I back off to deep weed edges, nothing. I honestly don't know what to do. im pretty much blaming the water temp. im open to suggestions. tried everything from frogs, buzz baits, flukes, senkos, shallow cranks, deep cranks, t-rigged plastics (all depths to about 15') (these lakes are pretty shallow), thinking maybe going small perhaps shaky head or drop shot.
  3. first time in a real bass boat. the boat was pulled up on the sand and I put one foot in and went to shove off with my other foot just as my buddy started backing up with the motor. being completely off balance I half fell and grabbed the trolling motor with one foot dragging in the water and one in the boat. I am 300 lbs so it was pretty tuff trying to get in the boat. buddy laughed his ass off when he noticed me struggling to get in the boat.
  4. I have 2 kids a 6 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. both love fishing. my son does not have the patience to work on casting and I don't have the patience to untangle lines so he and his sister play in the boat while I fish and they take turns reeling them in.
  5. crank up the tunes, grab whatever lure looks most promising and just enjoy the day.
  6. leatherman, bug spray, tp, ipod.
  7. my lakes are so pressured that I have noticed a definate decline in fish as more people get on the water. I am usually at the launch by 5 and usually by 7 fish are hard to come by, not to mention the water skiers ruin my favorite lake by that time. the other nice thing is I am home by 10 I get to lounge around the house have a big lunch do some chores then take the kids out for the evening bite.
  8. I am left side retarded so I feel your pain.
  9. I hate you all. still frozen here and bass opener is a long way away
  10. My brother is notorious for this, he will loose his only spinner bait then borrow one of mine. after a few hours he usually looses that one grabs another then forgets to give it back at the end of the trip. he always says oh, I owe you a spinnerbait man sorry. I have yet to recieve a lure back from him. on the other hand I do make more money than him, not much but I can afford to buy more where he cant. but still
  11. I am usually out early around 5 or so I just like to listen to nature wake up untill the jet skis and water skiers come out then It's time for tunes. I find fish really like an x rap worked to master of puppets
  12. wife used to give me crap about how much I spend on hunting and fishing till I started pointing out all my buddies going out to bars and blowing $100 a night on drinks and games! suddenly a $70 spinning reel that I will use for 5 years doesn't seem like such a big deal. I haven't been in a bar in probably 6 years. my hobbies keep me drinking at home lol
  13. thanks for the replies I got a lot of good info and will tackle the project here pretty soon. expect questions when I start!
  14. I have a bunch of old curado's and citica's to clean, lube and install new drags. I don't know where to start really. what tools do I need what grease/oil should I use any tips you can offer what drag would you reccomend. can I repair the drags? I had heard you can rough it up and it will work again, it keeps slipping now on most of them. I am broke and cant afford to send in 13 reels at $15 each it adds up!
