St Croix Legend Tournament Spinning Rod

Featured Replies

So I bought a Legend Tournament Bass 7'1 MF spinning rod (old model, not the 2022 model) and paired it with a Shimano Stradic FL 2500. I have fished it for a bit now and primarily use it for ned rigs but to me it feels extremely tip heavy and fatigueing to fish with. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have a suggestion for a reel that would help balance the rod a bit better?

Might want to bump it up to a 3000 in a different model. Looks like the 2500/3000 stradics weigh the same. Still at 7.9 ounces that is not the lightest reel. Maybe a 3000 Nasci @ 8.5 oz?

I actually have a 3000 Ultegra (8.5oz) and a 2500 Nasci FB (8.8oz) that I can try. I just wasn't sure if I should be going lighter or heavier but I guess heavier makes sense. I will give them a try, thank you.

I owned the exact rod and fished it a few yrs back with a quantum energy and it seemed fine but I was using it for tip down techniques so probably wasn't noticing as much as you are using neds. Id see how the Nasci feels.
