has anyone ever swam these baits? how do you like them? where do you get them? i just bought a 4 pack for $6.79. they have to be cheaper somewhere else.

Yep. I use them all the time and do quite well with them.

$6.79 for one pack?  Man, that's high.

I carry all three sizes.  $4.89 a pack for the 3 1/2" and 4 1/2" and $5.29 for the 5".

Of course, you get 10% off as well.

Good luck!

The new size just started coming out, they are dynamite, try some 5 inchers, they work.

I know I've asked Brad this before but where is the best place to use these baits?  I have two of them and I have only used them once.  Should these be used around docks, bluffs for suspended bass, & outside edge of weedbeds?  Steady retrieve or yo-yo style retrieve?

In other words, how do you fish these things?

Brad,

Couple questions:

1. what is the approx weight of these w/out a jig head?

2. what size jig head/hook size do you recommend?  Or, do you suggest a different method of use?

heard good things about this bait...bout time to break down and try them.

They sell them at Walmart for $1.80

Yeah, but that's only for one bait rigged on a jighead and a cheap jighead at that. That would be $7.20 for 4, so not much of a deal versus the 4 pack for the 4 1/2", the 6 pack for the 3 1/2" or the 3 pack for the 5 1/2".

The 3 1/2" bait is about 3/8 oz.

The 4 1/2" bait is about 3/4 oz.

The 5 1/2" bait is about 1 1/2 oz.

For hooks, I use a 1/0 Mustad Impact with the 3 1/2", a 4/0 Mustad Impact with the 4 1/2".  The 5 1/2" takes a big hook.  I have not decided yet which one is best for me.

For jigheads, you need a big enough hook for getting a good hookset and weight is all about how deep/fast you plan on fishing.

Most of the time I am fishing them weightless around shallow cover, either swimming them, deadsticking them, ripping them, etc.

Other times I will fish them on a jighead for deeper fishing or on a Crig.
