I imagine myself bobbing around in that monstrosity of a lake in my kayak, and it is daunting. I am thinking of launching near Catfish Beach and fishing that end, but trust me when I say..I could almost throw a dart for my starting point. I have ZERO intel. none of my friends are willing to venture that far. Me? a hotel room so I can sleep and dream about giant California Smallmouth bass. I can do this/ can anyone help me on some info? not sure I can sneak off this year but next last spring, I am going. the lake looks amazing. Super User NorcalBassin Posted October 12, 2022 Super User Share Posted October 12, 2022 Lots of good water that time of year, but it will be hard to beat the eastern shoreline for numbers and a chance to run into some giants. There are a few hotel options in Chester with others sprinkled around the lake. Great place to visit and a real eye opener to see how much of the surrounding area was torched by the Dixie fire.
