Expride B ratings

Featured Replies

I’ve been really looking for an Expride spinning rod lately and have been hearing most people say that the B’s run heavier than their rating suggests. I have a 7’2” MHF Expride B casting rod and don’t really notice it as much stouter than my other medium heavy rods (Zodias, Champ 734, etc). I’ve had my eyes on the 7’ M and the 7’2” ML and want to know what the more versatile rod is for a do it all spinning rod. And in general what are your thoughts on the stiffness of the A rods vs the B rods?

i have a 7ft medium a , a 7ft medium b and a 72ml b. i see people say the 72 ml is more of a medium but i dont agree. the 72 is my primary dropshot rod. i think people say that because of the backbone in the rod. it has a fairly sot tip about the first 8 inches . but when she stiffens up it has alot of power in the mid and lower. the 2 7ft mediums feel identical to me. i prefer them for shakey heads, flukes, wacky senkos etc.
