i know they just came out(few more days on humminbird,i guess),but i am wondering how many of you are planning on buying the lowrance elite5x dsi and how many are leaning towards the humminbird 596c hd di...guess i'm just anxious to get some news on these two units........thanks

I Got the DSI.... will report in after a test run.  The test run will occur when it stops snowing....haha

Will not buy Lowrance.

Will go with Hummingbird.

Probably the down and side scanner model for console and a smaller sonar for the trolling motor.

Sam, I'm not to sure about that now after an e-mail I got from Humminbird customer service this week.

This is part of it:  "an acceptable display per our guidelines of quality control."

That means that they will allow a certain level of defects to be put on the market with no corections done when a customer notices them.

Well Sam, I am sure about it as of today. Humminbird decided to replace the unit.
