Question: Motorguide w/built in Transducer interference problem??

Featured Replies

Here's the story:

Right now I have 2 Lowrance 520c's on my boat. One on the bow and one on the console. I have a Motorguide Tour 80 with a built in transducer that I use for the front Lowrance unit. I am thinking about buying a Hummingbird 798ci SI/DI unit for the front with the intention of using both the front 520c for sonar only and the HB for SI and DI only. The 520c on the console will be for navigation only. Question: will I be able to mount the humminbird transducer on the trolling motor without interference from the built in transducer on the trolling motor? Does anyone know if the Humminbird and Lowrance units operate on different frequencies? Sorry for the long story!!!!

Added note here: A Lowrance HDS unit with the LSS-1 tranducer will do what you want with no crosstalk since the LSS-1 transducer and software is just 455 and 800 khz. You can use the motor transducer for the 2D part of the HDS if there is an adaptor that works with the dual frequency HDS 2D unit.
