Big money fishing trip. what do we know about Travel Insurance.

i hope it is okay to put this in this forum.  i have a trip planned.  i dont have a job where i print money.  so, i need protection.  

 

i could get sick, or something happen to my elderly mom and my trip gets grenaded.  (Things happen).

 

what do i need to know about trip insurance?  gotchas?  lessons learned?

I purchase travel insurance every time I fly south of the border.

10 plus trips ~ Used it twice.

Glad I had it.

Read it and make sure you know what's covered and the steps 

needed to file a claim before you need to.

Have the info with you.

We take it for every plane trip and cruise we take. 
Mrs Mike was a travel agent for 28 yrs so anything travel wise I don’t question. 
 

Yeah it can be expensive depending on your point of view, circumstances and what you want covered. 

Just keep in mind, it is what is..If you need it you’re glad you took it. 
 

Tip..As @A-Jay mentioned, Be absolutely certain you read it and understand the limitations. 
They’re not all the same.
