Not always tho. I used to strictly use mono and always spooled this reel with 20lb big game, which is a thick line. When you’re bombing a big walking bait or something that casts well, you’re getting down on the spool. It’s nice to still have a higher line intake still when you’re at the end of your cast. Something holding a lot less line you have no pickup if you hookup on a bomb casts.

If i use anything over a 100 size, it's always to cast heavy lures, most of the time reaching about 6.5oz. To me, the Z2020 is the uncontested king at it, and nothing is remotely close when it comes to the comfort, casting distance and the longevity.
